Miss D would never share a picture of herself without makeup. But after traveling to Spa Lé La in Studio City, Los Angeles and experiencing one of its signature facials, I’m like Alicia Keys and embracing my bare skin!
This gem of a find is run by Trina Renea, a former punk rock lead singer who discovered her love for beauty while giving her hubby a pimple pop! Services at Spa Lé La include facials, massages and retreat services such as infrared sauna, bath soaks and a nap room.
After arriving and slipping into a terry wrap, I laid down on a heated bed that warmed my jetlagged body as Trina got ready to take on my face. Since I had been in cross-country transit, Trina suggested a “Traveler’s Facial,” which infuses much-needed hydration into weary skin.
Trina blended a few of her favorite cleansers to remove the grime and exfoliated my face with a brightening enzyme. I could feel warm steam misting over my face as she prepared it for some light extractions (just a pinch!).
Trina applied essential oils on my skin that she melted in with a Korean heat wand, which she then sealed in with a cold wand that helps reduce puffiness.
An application of hydrating serums infused with oxygen and soothing massage of my jawline left me with incredible results. My skin looked clean, dewy and blemish-free. The perfect way to end this blissful experience was with a cup of brewed white pear tea. I felt so relaxed and naturally gorgeous and dare I say it — a bit younger?
Trina is a busy mom who understands that squeezing in a facial or massage when you have little ones running around isn’t always easy. So Spa Lé La offers complimentary child care services on-site for children six months to 9 years old.
Treat yourself to a little “me time” and visit Spa Lé La at 4338 Tujunga Ave, Los Angeles.
