Considering Ramona Singer’s recent controversy over her racist remarks, it’s no wonder everyone’s getting their two cents in on the matter. Add to that her removal from BravoCon 2023, and Ramona’s the talk of the town.
Among the tangential topics of discussion is Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy, and how the show might be affected by Ramona’s remarks. With that uncertainty, it was only a matter of time before Ramona’s castmates started commenting.
Tamra Judge and Teddi Mellencamp wanted to get the scoop on their podcast. So, ahead of BravoCon, the two Ts interviewed Luann de Lesseps over every aspect of the Ramona controversy.
When asked for her thoughts on Ramona’s removal from BravoCon, Luann said, “First of all, I mean, it’s unacceptable and very disheartening that that happens … and it’s certainly not a reflection of who I am. So, it’s just, you know, a sad situation all the way around.” As for whether she’d spoken to Ramona, Luann reported, “No, I haven’t spoken to her about it.”
She went on, “I just don’t know what to say … It’s better to say nothing.” The three then discussed Ramona’s attempts to save face. “It was careless,” Luann agreed, “and reckless, and there’s really no excuse.” In speculating about whether this would affect RHONY Legacy’s air date, Luann said, “I hope it doesn’t.”
She continued, “This is not a reflection of the cast and who we are.” The group also discussed Bethenny Frankel. “I haven’t spoken to Bethenny in years,” Luann admitted, “and that’s just the way I like to keep it. You know, her trying to get reality people in some sort of [union] … I understand that … [But] I don’t love her going after Andy [Cohen] or the network.”
