Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s royal baby: Due date, gender and everything else to know

Kensington Palace was eager to announce the upcoming new addition to the British family, saying in October that the newlyweds were “very please” to share the news.

“The Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, and Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted for the couple and were able to congratulate them … at the wedding in person,” the palace said in a statement.

While speaking to fans during a stroll around Birkenhead, England in January, Markle revealed to a stranger that she was due in late April, though she wouldn’t give an exact date, HELLO! Magazine reported.

A young girl in Birkenhead asked Markle in January if she was expecting a boy or a girl. Of course, Markle grinned and said she wants it to be a surprise.

However, Prince Harry apparently admitted in the past that he’s hoping his first child is a girl.

“I hope it’s a girl!” a woman in the crowd shouted out during an event for the Invictus Games in Sydney, Australia back in October.

Chuckling, Prince Harry replied, “So do I!”
