Meghan Markle’s family drama likely to worsen after birth of royal baby

If you thought a new baby would smooth over Meghan Markle’s troubles with her family, think again.

Royal biographer Andrew Morton claims that upcoming birth of the royal baby will likely exacerbate tensions between the Duchess of Sussex and her estranged father.

“There is the little matter of baby Sussex arriving in April,” Morton wrote in The Telegraph on Sunday. “Amid the joy and lament will be a public lament from Meghan’s father wondering if he will ever be allowed to see the child.”

Morton may not be far off: A friend of Thomas told Express that the 74-year-old former Hollywood lighting director is desperate to be in his future grandchild’s life.

“Thomas has said he just wants one final chance to make things up with Meghan,” the pal said. “He can’t bear the thought of not being able to hold his new grandchild. Whatever it takes, that’s what he wants.”

The friend said that Thomas is still holding out hope for an invitation to the tot’s christening, noting, “He celebrates his 75th birthday in August and he can’t think of a gift he would rather have than to be able to cradle that baby.”

“He had such a strong relationship when Meghan was growing up and he wants that back without these endless back-and-forth squabbles,” the source added. “He believes life’s too short and would dearly love to hold her child and meet her husband. He hopes she can find it in her heart to forgive him for everything she feels he has done wrong.”
