Prince William and Kate Middleton are already convinced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are trying to steal their thunder.
Remember how they released the trailer for the controversial Netflix Harry & Meghan docuseries when they were in America for the Earthshot Prize Awards and fans and experts alike deemed that the timing was no coincidence?
Well, the Prince and Princess of Wales are reportedly worried that the Duke of Sussex, 38, could partly overshadow the one-year anniversary of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s death, as he is expected to be in the U.K. at the same time as the royal family’s private memorial.
Although there will be no big public memorial for the late Queen Elizabeth II, the royal family *are* intending to hold a private and intimate memorial for the late monarch in Balmoral.
The family will reportedly hold the memorial on September 8th, exactly one year to the day of her passing, while Prince Harry is expected to be in the U.K. on September 7th.
William and Kate are “irritated” by Prince Harry giving a speech at the awards, as he would most likely be paying tribute to his late grandmother just one day before the one-year anniversary of her death.
They feel that this could potentially “overshadow” their own memorial for the late monarch.
“It is increasingly hard to work out what Harry wants to be and do. He was appointed to be a patron of WellChild because he was a member of the royal family,” an insider said.
“Now this is something that he apparently wants to carry on doing in his capacity as a private individual.”
A friend of King Charles’ isn’t fazed about what his younger son will get up to when he visits the U.K.
“Harry is a private citizen. What he does on the anniversary of the Queen’s death is entirely a matter for him,” the insider said, adding, “The King certainly won’t be changing his plans in reaction to what Harry is doing.”
