Selena Gomez sparked rumors of there being drama between herself, rumored ex-love interest Zayn Malik, his ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid, and her sister Bella Hadid when she unfollowed all three on Instagram during the weekend. At first, Malik and Gigi still followed Gomez. Now, neither do. (Bella didn’t follow Gomez prior to Gomez unfollowing her.) Malik unfollowed Gomez on Monday. And Gigi unfollowed Gomez yesterday, fans noticed.
A source close to Gomez clarified to People on Monday that there is no feud or drama ongoing between the group. “There are absolutely no hard feelings with anyone she unfollowed,” the source said. None of them have commented on their relationship either, unsurprisingly.
Gomez and Gigi are both close friends with Taylor Swift. Swift and Gigi were photographed getting dinner together in New York City on June 18.
Gomez and Malik were romantically linked in March. A source told Entertainment Tonight that they were seen kissing while at dinner in New York. “Selena and Zayn went out in SoHo in New York City last night at around 10:30 P.M.,” the source said. “They walked in holding hands and were kissing. Most restaurant staff and restaurantgoers didn’t notice them. It seemed like they were comfortable together and it was clear that it was a date.”
No photos ever emerged of them together nor were there any more reports about them being out on dates. Gomez publicly declared herself single on June 8 during her two months in Paris.
A source told Us Weekly shortly after Malik-Gomez dating reports broke that Gigi didn’t have an issue with them seeing each other romantically. Gigi and Malik co-parent their 2-year-old daughter Khai; they ended their own on-off romantic relationship seemingly for good in October 2021.
“Gigi has no problem whatsoever with Zayn dating,” the source said then. “As long as he is happy and stable and continues to be a good coparent to Khai, she’s fine with whoever he goes out with.”
