Welp, turns out Taylor Swift is the best friend ever. On top of being in Sophie Turner’s corner as she goes through her contentious divorce from Joe Jonas, Tay has reportedly loaned Sophie her New York City apartment while she and Joe deal with their custody issues.
According to Page Six, Taylor offered Sophie Tribeca apartment that she keeps as an investment property, so that she and her kids can have somewhere to live in NYC—and Sophie’s been seen out and about in the neighborhood—looking unbothered and incredible, I might add, in the perfect pair of jeans and a tee.
FYI, this news comes amid Sophie suing Joe in federal court and claiming that he’s been illegally preventing their children from returning to England. Joe’s rep released a statement in response, saying in part “This is an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending. When language like ‘abduction’ is used, it is misleading at best, and a serious abuse of the legal system at worst. The children were not abducted.”
Meanwhile, Page Six recently reported that the couple signed an “interim consent order” that prohibits both of them from removing the children from New York state, and they have a “pretrial conference” scheduled for October 3.
Back to Sophie and Taylor real quick: Entertainment Tonight spoke to a source who said they “have always liked and respected each other.” The source added that “They are fans of each other and have been friends for a while. Sophie doesn’t care that Taylor dated Joe. It was so long ago and in the past. Taylor has a good time when she’s with Sophie and they enjoyed some fun girl time together last night.”
