On Wednesday night “American Idol” got a 3.1 in the key demo, a decent but not amazing number.
But producers had high hopes for Thursday episode featuring the return of original judge and past performer Clay Aiken as surprise guests – but guess what? The ratings DROPPED to a 2.9, with only 11.9 total million viewers.
Idol was beaten by RERUNS of “The Big Bang Theory” and “Two and a Half Men.”
“Producers are very concerned,” one insider tells Naughty But Nice Rob. “Big changes are going to have to be made. The news keeps getting worst and nothing we do seems to be helping.”
To put this into perspective – “The Voice” on NBC, scored a 5.1 this week in the 18-49 year olds.
But, whatever you do – DO NOT TELL MARIAH! She is still being told she show is a monster ratings hit. Wink
