America’s Next Top Model’s Star Shocking New Gig! (Tattoos! Weed! Skeletons!)
Shei Phan, who was a finalist on the 21st cycle of America’s Next Top Model, has taken on a brand new role. The gorgeous beauty is now an artist – and her work headlined Art Basel 2017.
Featured at Art With Purpose x Katsuya Art Basel party, held in the epicurean Japanese restaurant inside SLS Hotel South Beach, Shei showcased her collection “Pandanation.” The graphic pieces are designed to send a message that needs to be heard, according to Shei.
Dressed in a lavender organza gown, Shei told Naughty Gossip: “Pandanation is a series that I created that is designed to cross the line of what is normal. As pandas we are not meant to fit in but to stand out. It intertwines cute with an edge. I believe that it is what I am and I am represented I every piece I do.”
To make her art, Shei steps outside of her comfort zone and pushes others to do as well. “Tattoos, weed and skeletons all bring alive the stories we hide inside. This is my way of sharing mine and allowing others to get their voice out by becoming a panda themselves.” Each 18″x24″ prisma color on paper sells for $2500.
On hand to catch her gallery of work was comedian Carol J. Castillo of HBO’s Ballers; WBLI/iHeart Radio and StarShop host Chanel Omari and DivaGalsDaily EIC/Celebrity Page correspondent Delaina Dixon. Proceeds from the charity event benefitted hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico.
Shei also put in a celebrity appearance at DJ Affect’s 8th Annual Holiday Toy Drive at Mr. Kream in Wynwood, Miami’s Art District. She revealed she’s no longer with a modeling agency – instead choosing to pick projects that mean something to her and brands she wants to work with exclusively.
