The Michael Jackson musical that is supposed to be heading to Broadway has made the decision not to touch the most interesting and controversial aspects of the troubled singer’s controversial life.
“The Michael Jackson estate is behind the show and although they insist that there have been no restrictions placed on the creative team, they have decided that no ugly details from his life will be in the show. The sexual abuse allegations, the plastic surgery story and even Michael’s addiction to drugs have all been cut out of the stage show,” sources tell STRAIGHT SHUTER. “The estate is currently fighting with HBO over a documentary about Jackson and his alleged child abuse. There is no way they are going to allow a musical about his life that isn’t flattering. And without the estate’s approval, you cannot use the songs. They are saying the musical is about the artistic journey of Jackson and not about his private life.”
