Last night “American Idol” rantings fells to a 3.0 rating with only 11.63 million people watching making it the fourth most watched show of the night.
The same night that Nicki Minaj arrived 20 minutes late and then lost it where her favorite contestant leaving the show, didn’t pull in viewers with all this added, some say, created, drama.
“Idol just cannot go head-to-head with The Big Bang Theory and Two and A Half Men. Gone of the days where Idol would destroy its competition,” one TV insider tells NBNROB. “CBS has blockbuster evening, and now even Elementary is beating Idol. If this continues expect major changes.”
The return of “The Voice” on NBC Monday, March 25th has executive’s at Idol, terrified.
“Idol is a very expensive show to produce. It’s live and it has a huge music budget and do not forget how much money the host and judges are making. It cannot continue as it has for years,” reveals on Fox Executive. “If more people don’t start watching, or if budgets are not slashed, them Idol could be OVER.”
