Kelly Ripa said that she hadn’t spoken with her longtime former Live! co-host, Regis Philbin, for a while – and now everyone is buzzing that the two of them are no longer friends.
“They will be friends for life. Kelly always spoke with and about Regis in the most glowing terms. They were very friendly, and in my recent conversations with her, there was never anything by her to me that would indicate otherwise,” a close friend of Kelly’s tells Naughty But Nice Rob. “They do not talk every day, but to suggest they are not friends is just silly.”
Ripa, replaced Kathie Lee Gifford in 2001 as Philbin’s partner on Live! Then, when Philbin retired in late 2011, former NFL star Strahan, 41, officially joined the show.
“Kelly called Regis today to tell him that she loves him and if she was misquoted or said anything that hurt his feelings, then she is sorry. The last person on earth she would want to hurt is Regis. He changed her life,” adds one close friend.
