What does the news that an Italian criminal court has overturned Amanda Knox’s acquittal for the murder mean for Knox’s memoir scheduled to be released next month? – Absolutely nothing.
Harper Collins will publish Amanda Knox’s book, Waiting to Be Heard on April 30, and will move forward with the interviews that have been scheduled, said a company spokesperson.
“They paid $4 million for the book, if anything this news is going to help them,” one rival publisher tells Naughty But Nice Rob. “Suddenly everyone is interested in this case again, it’s what’s everyone is talking about. We all want to hear Amanda’s side of the story and only Harpers has it.”
ABC has confirmed that the first sit down interview with Diane Sawyer and Knox will air on April 30 at 10pm. Additionally ABC negotiated a ‘package’ deal to promote the red hot book across a number of its shows including, ABC News Primetime Special, World News with Diane Sawyer, Good Morning America, Nightline, ABCNews.com and Yahoo!
“This could be the most watched TV special event in a long time,” one ABC executive says. “The twists and turns in story are never ending and talk about timing – it couldn’t be better!”
