Stephen Baldwin has admitted failing to pay New York State income taxes for 2008, 2009 and 2010 but reached a plea bargain that would enable his record to be wiped clean if he pays back $300,000 within a year.
Failure to do so will result in a five-year sentence of probation.
Baldwin’s total bill including taxes, interest and penalties is $400,000 but state Supreme Court Justice Charles Apotheker said $100,000 had already been paid.
The actor blamed the problem on trusting others.
“Unfortunately, I got some really bad suggestions and advice … from lawyers and accountants,” he said. “I just look forward to getting the $300,000 paid in the next year.”
How is Stephen going to earn $300,000 in a year? Call his brother Alec or Dancing With The Stars?
