JetBlue, the New York Restoration Project (NYRP)’s MillionTreesNYC initiative and Clear Channel Radio New York have partnered together for the Sixth annual “One Thing That’s Green” campaign on Saturday, April 20th. This year’s campaign is dedicated to rebuilding New York, post Hurricane Sandy destruction. Join by volunteering to plant 2,400 new trees from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m at Highland Park, which borders Queens and Brooklyn. Volunteers will be provided with giveaways, a complimentary breakfast and lunch and other family-friendly activities.
Local Clear Channel radio stations are also lending a hand at the first ever planting event since the storm. Z100’s Greg T and 103.5 KTU’s Paul “Cubby” Bryant will host the opening ceremony and Power 105.1’s DJ Whutevva will be joining volunteers. Pop duo Karmin’s Amy Heidemann and Nick Louis Noonan can also be seen spreading the word and promoting a greener planet with this PSA to air on all JetBlue flights beginning this week.
Volunteers can register at www.jetblue.com/trees to participate. Those not able to participate in the event can visit www.jetblue.com/pledge now to make a green pledge.
