Jay-Z decided to take his fame to another form of entertainment, sports. Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s management company who currently represents Rihanna, Shakira, & Timbaland, has just surprised everyone by creating a new division which will handle professional athletes. Roc Nation Sports (as the division will be known) is currently under the umbrella of another major sports agency, but will eventually become its own company.
Jay-Z isn’t wasting any time, signing one of the biggest stars in baseball today, Robinson Cano (New York Yankees). Why is this so interesting, you might ask? Jay-Z is using his power to enter the field in a not so quiet way. Cano’s contract is currently under negotiations (since it expires soon) with the biggest sports agent in professional baseball, Scott Boras (represents Alex Rodriguez – A-ROD and many of the other big names). That’s right, Jay-Z made his entrance by stealing one of the biggest talents in baseball from one of the biggest agents in baseball while working on one of the largest contracts in baseball.
What else is Jay-Z planning? Is he going to get Beyonce to play first base for the Yankees next? (Actually… that’s one game that we all would definitely watch!)
