Kanye West will be performing on Saturday Night Live‘s season 38 finale. He will emerge from his bunker in Paris to be the musical guest on the May 18 episode, which will be hosted by Ben Affleck.
And although Kim Kardashian will be in the audience, her E! reality show crew will not be allowed to film inside 30 Rock.
“The Kardashian’s show is in production right now and the producers of Kim’s show have asked if they can have camera’s backstage at SNL to capture Kim’s reaction while watching her man perform. But SNL and host Ben Affleck have said – no way!”
Even though SNL and E! are both owned by the same parent company, Comcast, SNL almost never allows camera’s at the show. They made an exception once for ‘60 Minutes’, but ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s is not ’60 Minutes.’
“E! was hoping to capture all the craziness off the behind the scenes and even Kim’s reaction if the cast make fun of her during the show,” one NBC insider tells me. “Nothing is off the table. SNL do not allow musical acts control over the content of the show. They have even asked Kayne to be in one sketch that makes a joke about Kim – he has as far agreed.”
