Since September 12, 2011 when the final episode of Kate Plus 8 aired on TLC, the famous mom has had a hard time getting a job. She just appeared on Celebrity Wife Swap where she switched places with Kendra Wilkinson, but other TV opportunities that Kate hoped would emerge, haven’t so far.
Now Kate has received even more bad news, finding out that her new book proposal has been rejected from at least two major publishers.
“Kate cannot understand why there is no interest in her book,” one insider tells me. “She never had trouble selling books in the past and refuses to believe that since she lost her show her star has faded.”
Gosselin has written three non-fiction books. Her first book, written with Jon Gosselin was published in November 2008 and debuted at number five on the New York Times Best-Seller list. It went on to sell over 500,000 copies by the end of 2009. Her second book, Eight Little Faces, was released in April 2009, and also debuted at number five on the New York Times Best-Seller list, However, her third book, I Just Want You To Know, only made it to number 103 on the New York Times Best-Seller list.
“Reality TV fame is very strange,” one Hollywood manager tells Naughty But Nice Rob. “It comes very fast and goes very fast. Once you lose the TV anchor to your celebrity, all the other opportunities that come along with that also disappear. It’s understandable that Kate is having a hard time; she went from someone that was on the covers of weekly magazines to a lady who cannot get a major publisher interested in her new idea for a book.”
Can I really be feeling bad for Kate?
