Once George Zimmerman announced that he was going to enter the boxing ring for charity, there were thousands of applicants to be his opponent. Then it was reported that his opponent would be rapper DMX, who made a not-so-nice statement about what he planned to do to Zimmerman in the fight.
However, new details have just emerged that say the fight might not happen.
“The boxing match between George Zimmerman and DMX is not officially confirmed. DMX has promised to ‘beat his ass,’ but no contract or paperwork has been signed or agreed to yet,” the rapper’s spokesman Domenick Nati wrote in an email Thursday.
“DMX will release an official statement if and when an agreement is made,” the statement continued.
When flat out asked if the fight will happen, Nati replied, “I doubt it.”
On top of the controversy surrounding this fight is the fact that it will take place on what would have been Trayvon’s 19th birthday.
