Barry Manilow was spotted leaving Broadway’s “Cinderella” at intermission on Saturday night – but not because he didn’t like the show – the poor thing had a terrible headache!
The Daily News spotted the legend leaving the show – but that was because poor Barry had a terrible migraine, and only attended the show that evening because he didn’t want to let anyone down.
“When he got home he sent an email to the shows musical director, David Chase, right away saying how sorry he was,” says Barry. “I feel terrible and will catch the rest of the show when I get a chance.”
Barry is in New York holdings auditions for his new show with Bruce Sussman – Harmony!
Friday night Barry went to “Kinky Boots,” where he but went backstage to meet the cast and take pictures – he is so nice! And on Sunday, Manilow appeared at a benefit on 23rd St. in Chelsea for New York Theatre Barn, where he raised a record amount of money for the non-for-project theatre. He is now feeling much better, and plans to catch a show tonight while he is in New York. No one loves theatre as much as Barry.
Manilow has already sent over a basket of cupcakes to the cast of Cinderella and a note saying sorry! BLESS HIM
