The reason that Jennifer Lawrence’s no show at the MTV Movie Awards angered the network executives so much, is because most of the winners know in advance that they have won, and are expected to turn up and collect the award.
“You always know who is going to win by looking at who is sitting in the audience,” one TV insider tells Naughty But Nice Rob. “No way would Bradley Cooper be sitting in the front row if he was going to lose.”
Several other award shows are known to attract A-list talent by assuring them in advance that they are turning up to called an award.
“This is not the Oscars! The awards are really secondary to putting on a great show, full of celebrities and A-list stars turning up to promote their next film. The winning is just a means to get them to attend,” adds another TV insider.
So the next time you watch an award show, take a look – who is sitting in the first few rows? They probably will end up winning!
