The actress shared a comical reaction to the ‘Friends’ slander via Instagram on Tuesday.
Over the weekend, West, 45, revealed on Instagram that he never wrote the tweet claiming Friends wasn’t funny back in 2020, although he might as well have.
“I actually didn’t write the tweet that said, ‘Friends wasn’t funny either,’ but I wish I had,” the rapper wrote in the caption on the since-deleted post, per The Daily Mail.
In a new Instagram Reels video shared on Tuesday, Sept. 6., the 58-year-old actress clapped back at West’s Friends slander with some humor, as she captioned the clip, “I bet the old Kayne thought Friends was funny ☹️,” misspelling his name in the process.
In the video, Cox is seen jamming out to West’s track “Heartless” while scrolling through Instagram before she reads his post that mentions Friends.
As the video zooms in on the part of the caption where West claims the show wasn’t funny, Cox raises an eyebrow and angrily walks over to her speaker to turn his music off.
Plenty of Cox’s 12 million Instagram followers seemed to rally behind her, with thousands of commenters reassuring the actress that the Emmy-winning showwas in fact funny.
“Friends is still the funniest show ever,” one fan wrote, while another added, “People who don’t think Friends is funny scare me.”
More fans took to the comments to share their love for Cox, who starred on the sitcom from 1994 to 2004, alongside fellow cast members, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow and Matt Leblanc.
“This is so classy & iconic,” one user wrote.
“So far one of my favorite reels you ever made,” another added.
Director Murray Cummings also chimed in to poke fun at the Yeezy designer further, writing, “I love Friends as much as Kanye loves Kanye ❤️.”
“I love funny people and I think that’s one of the reasons me and Skete could’ve never been friends,” he wrote.
Instead, West named some of the comedians he does find funny, including Chris Rock, Dave Chapelle, Jerrod Carmichael and more.
“I like to fight with jokes,” his caption continued, adding, “Sometimes we gotta laugh to keep from crying even when we dealing with serious topics.”
West’s post has since been deleted. The Donda artist also has not yet responded to Cox’s video.ORDER A COPY OF ROB’S NEW BEST SELLING BOOK!
