Instagram thirst traps are all fun and games until your brother sees them…just ask Kate Hudson.
On July 2, the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days actor graced Instagram with a sun-soaked topless photo as she enjoyed a morning cup of coffee. In the pic, Katesits in front of a large bay window in a pair of high-waisted black underwear and nothing but her long blonde hair covering her chest. “🌞’s out,” she captioned the photo, adding a series of coffee emojis.
Of course, the photo got over 400,000 likes and a lot of support from fellow celebs like Paris Hilton and Michelle Pfeiffer. “I must recreate this 😍😍😍😍,” commented singer Janelle Monae, while Selma Blair wrote, “That’s a lovely morning! 💛.”
However, at least one famous person in the comments wasn’t a fan. Hudson’s own brother, Oliver Hudson, wrote, “Nope..” Older brothers all share the same brain, don’t they? This content is not available due to your privacy preferences.Update your settings here to see it.
Oliver and Kate Hudson’s parents are Goldie Hawn and musician Bill Hudson, though they were raised by Hawn and their stepfather Kurt Russell. “I think that estrangement is unfortunately quite common,” she said in a candid interviewwith USA Today in January 2021. “I think it’s important for people to talk about that. If they can’t reconnect or if it’s too challenging, that it’s okay, right?”
She continued, “I have a beautiful mother. I have a stepfather who stepped in and played a huge, huge part in sharing what it is to have a dependable father figure in our life. But it doesn’t take away from the fact that we didn’t know our dad.”
In the same interview, Kate opened up about her own blended family and raising three children with three different dads. The Fabletics founder shares a son, 18-year-old Ryder, with ex-husband Chris Robinson, a 10-year-old son, Bingham, with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy, and a 3-year-old daughter, Rani Rose, with Danny Fujikawa.
“I’ve got multiple dads, I’ve got kids all over the place,” she said. “The only expectations I really have that are really high in my life is with my kids. And with like family stuff. Other than that, it’s like, I just let it go. I work my ass off and then I walk away and I hope for the best.”
