Lance Bass has been unable to get in touch with his old friend Britney Spears since the termination of her oppressive conservatorship, and claims she still has a “wall around her” preventing access.
Speaking to Page Six at the Vanderpump Dog Foundation’s sixth annual World Dog Day event in West Hollywood (iconic), Lance said “not at all” when asked if he’s been in touch with Britney.
“It’s just, you know, there’s a wall around her,” he explained. “And for some reason, those people don’t want her old friends involved with her life … I just wish her luck. She seems very happy, so I’m happy that she’s happy.”
Several months before Britney’s conservatorship ended in November 2021, Lance revealed that he’d been unable to get in touch with her for years. “We’ve been kept away from each other for quite a while,” he said on the Heather Dubrow’s World podcast. “I don’t know exactly what she needs, but I do know that she, to me—what I see—is sane enough to pick her own people.”
Lance added at the time that Britney needs to be “away from the dad,” and that “She needs to pick her own people running this conservatorship, if she even needs one, especially when choosing her lawyer.”
Fortunately Britney was able to get representation from Mathew Rosengart, and her conservatorship was terminated. Britney celebrated the news on Twitter at the time, saying “Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy !!! I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day !!!! Best day ever … praise the Lord … can I get an Amen ???? #FreedBritney.”
