There was no doubt in my mind that the upcoming season of Real Housewives of New Jersey would be explosive. Teresa Giudice and sister-in-law Melissa Gorga finally gave up the ruse that they were friends. Or ever would be for that matter.
With that said, call me naive, but even I didn’t anticipate that Tre’s own brother, Joe Gorga (and wife Melissa) would be skipping Tre’s nuptials to Luis “Louie” Ruelas. Melissa and Joe made the call to stay home after Tre pushed cheating rumors about the couple while filming the RHONJ season finale.
Naturally, fans are taking sides. And so is the cast. Margaret Josephs recently spoke with E! News and predictably, she is Team Gorga. Said Marge, “I know what happened at the season finale and I think it’s very unfortunate.”
She continued, “I know why Melissa and Joe were very upset and I think it was devastating. It’s very sad when this happens with families and I think Melissa and Joe are justified, truthfully, for not going to the wedding.” Marge then added, “I think everybody’s going to see why. I think it makes sense and it’s sad.
Of course, Margaret was unable to spill exactly what happened, but noted what Teresa said was “very hurtful” to Melissa and Joe. The Season 13 trailer seems to confirm the reports that the rumors had to do with infidelity in the Gorga marriage. In the teaser, Jennifer Aydin brings it up.
Which seems pretty unsavory given that Jen’s marriage to husband Bill Aydinwas the subject of (confirmed) cheating rumors last season. Marge has something to say about that, too. “I think it shows her level of hypocrisy of that I said something that was actually true, and if she was so devastated, it hurt her children, and then the following season she brings up something that’s nothing even based on anything valid. She doesn’t think about anybody’s kids but her own. I think it’s distasteful and speaks about a lot of who she is,” Marge lamented.
So, was Tre part of spreading the rumor? Marge replied, “I think not on camera.”
Despite the Melissa of it all, Margaret claimed that she and Teresa “got along pretty well during the season.” Teresa even had Marge over for lunch during the premiere episode so they could work things out after a tumultuous run last season.
Marge shared, “I was shocked because after I had left the reunion I said there was really no hope for us, that I could be cordial to her. I thought our relationship was really severed for good.”
The longtime housewife concluded, “I was surprised that right out of the gate she wanted to meet with me and make up. I wanted to make sure it was sincere. I said it would be baby steps and she assured me it was sincere. I thought we had some good heart to hearts, but right now I don’t think it’s as good,” Margeadded. “I think she vacillates very easily and I’m not like that.”
