Our New Favorite Restaurant – INWOOD FARM! Executive Chef Peter Deitrick is trading Manhattan’s swanky midtown restaurant kitchens for a new culinary venture uptown…way, way uptown!
This former Alain Ducasse and David Burke chef has joined forces with restaurant owner Tom Bosco to create Inwood Farm, the first full service farm to table restaurant in Manhattan’s Inwood neighborhood. Deitrick, who also ran kitchens at SoHo’s Crosby Hotel as well as The Smith, says this vibrant and diverse neighborhood is prime for his perfectly priced culinary delights: “Could I sell our $20 main courses in Midtown for $50? Sure, but here it is about making the menu approachable for all guests.”
Inwood Farm has been a labor of love for its owner Tom Bosco, who took over the restaurant just as the pandemic struck: “just as we were about to renovate and launch, we ran right into Covid,” says Bosco – who was determined to keep going.
“We made a decision to stay open and be of service to our community here in Inwood. We wanted to be a sign of normalcy – and something the community could rely upon. So we poured coffee, baked pastries, and served comfort food. This enabled us to stay open, keep our staff employed, and safely serve the community. We didn’t close… not even for one day.”
