Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are now more unpopular than Prince Andrew, according to a new poll.
The Duke of Sussex’s popularity has sunk 48 points since December – giving him a net approval rating of -10, according to a poll of US adults by Newsweek.
The Duchess has also become less favourable among Americans, with her net approval rating sinking by 40 points to -17.
The poll comes following the release of the Duke of Sussex’s tell-all memoir Spare in January, which saw him come under fire for revealing intimate details about the Royal family and his time in the military.
By contrast Prince Andrew, who has been widely condemned for his friendship with convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, was given a net approval rating of -2, making him more popular than the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Just 28 per cent of respondents said they dislike the Duke of York, while 26 per cent confessed they like him.
The majority of Americans were apathetic towards Queen Elizabeth II’s disgraced son, with 32 per cent admitting they find him “neither favourable nor unfavourable”, while a further 13 per cent confessed they “don’t know” how they feel.
By contrast, US adults are much more opinionated when it comes to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Some 18 per cent said they were on the fence about Prince Harry, and seven per cent admitted they do not have an opinion of him. While one in five (20 per cent) found Meghan “neither favourable nor unfavourable”, and eight per cent said they “don’t know” what to make of her.
Overall, the data found that 32 per cent of Americans have positive feelings towards Prince Harry, 27 per cent feel favourably towards the Duchess of Sussex, and 26 per cent like Prince Andrew.
While 42 per cent feel negatively towards the Duke of Sussex and 44 per cent dislike the Duchess of Sussex, compared to just 28 per cent who do not like the Duke of York.
This is a stark contrast to the British opinion of Prince Andrew. A YouGov survey in January found that 86 per cent of the nation feel negatively towards him.
