Taylor Swift gave her partner of six years Joe Alwyn a subtle shoutout in her “Lavender Haze” music video, released Friday, by putting in a vinyl “Mastermind” album with her zodiac sign’s constellation and his (Sagittarius and Pisces, respectively). Now, Alwyn is returning the favor.
He casually dropped a little look into his and Swift’s life together on his Instagram Story for all the world to see. Swift’s cat Meredith appears in the shot he shared of her under the table. Alwyn provided no context. He just shared a series of photos on his Instagram of shots from his life recently, including this one:
Alwyn and Swift first started dating in fall 2016. Through their time together, even amid engagement rumors, the two have protected their relationship’s privacy. On occasion, the two have attended industry after parties together and even the Golden Globes ceremony in 2020. That said, Swift-Alwyn sightings are few and far between. The two were last photographed out together by paparazzi in late June 2022, kissing while on vacation in the Bahamas.
Swift explained back in August 2019 why she won’t talk about their relationship in interviews while speaking with The Guardian.
“I’ve learned that if I do [talk about my relationship with Alwyn], people think it’s up for discussion, and our relationship isn’t up for discussion,” she told The Guardian‘s reporter with a laugh. “If you and I were having a glass of wine right now, we’d be talking about it—but it’s just that it goes out into the world. That’s where the boundary is, and that’s where my life has become manageable. I really want to keep it feeling manageable.”
