‘The Bachelorette’ Is Recasting After Controversy, According to Reality Steve! It’s absolutely no secret that The Bachelor franchise is kiiiiiinda in shambles at the moment because of the Rachael Kirkconnell and Chris Harrison controversy. As a result, the franchise is now hostless, the “After the Final Rose” special is up in the air, and the question of who will be the next Bachelorette remains unanswered. Reality Steve initially reported that Bachelor season 25 favorite Katie Thurston was supposed to be the next Bachelorette, but uh…that’s no longer the case.
In a spoiler post, Reality Steve said that production quickly shifted their course of action with Katie assuming the lead after the Rachael and Chris Harrison drama went down. Here’s what Reality Steve said:
“Katie was originally going to be the Bachelorette, and once the shit hit the fan with the franchise the last couple weeks, the course of action changed, and they are now in discussions on who to go with. All I’ve heard is it won’t be Katie now.”
Steve also says that The Bachelorette will take place in the U.S. (which we already knew), and that “filming has been delayed about a week, so probably third week in March is when it will begin.”
And as for what’s going on with a host for The Bachelorette and the “After the Final Rose” special? Steve’s about as clueless on that as we are. “The ATFR is filming this weekend in LA. Before you ask, as of now, I don’t know who will be hosting,” he said in the post. “Nor do I know what they plan on doing, what the format will be, etc. And whoever hosts the ATFR, does that mean they’re the new host when The Bachelorettestarts up filming next month? We don’t know that either.”
