Three E! Shows Including ‘E! News,’ Canceled- E! News is coming to an end after three decades.
The long-running entertainment news programs, as well as Pop of the Morning and In The Room, have been canceled, Variety reported Wednesday (August 5).
The move comes amid a larger NBCUniversal restructuring, according to the report.
The trio of programs are all based in New York, and the decision comes after E!’s move a year ago to expand its entertainment news programming and introduce new shows.
E! News had transitioned the nightly Los Angeles show to a morning show in New York after an announcement at the end of summer last year.
“The cancellations come as E!’s parent company, NBCUniversal, looks to streamline its programming and restructure internally to create more efficiencies. Additionally, the harsh economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic factored into E! News, Pop of the Morning, and In the Room being taken off the cable channel’s programming slate,” Variety reported.
