Maria Shriver appeared as a correspondent on The Today Show this morning, reporting live from the Vatican on why the new Pope chose the name Francis.
The 57-year-old looked youthful as she appeared as a correspondent on the show.
Last night the show tweeted, teasing that ‘an old friend,’ would be making a return, and at 7:30 a.m. co-host Savannah Guthrie announced: ‘To help us out with our coverage, we are welcoming back a familiar face to our viewers.’ Ms Shriver later laughed and joked with Ms Guthrie and Matt Lauer.
Marie was a popular correspondent for NBC between 1987 and 2003. Starting as the co-anchor of Weekend Today then as a correspondent on ‘Dateline NBC.’ When her former husband, Arnold Schwarzenegger, ran for governor of California and won in 2003 she felt she couldn’t continue to report while also serving as first lady of California.
So, is Marie returning to the show full-time? “NBC would love to have her back,” said one insider.
