All the Hidden References You Missed in Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Royal Baby Photo Call

Believe it or not, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s photo call today actually contained some hidden references to their history as a couple.

Meghan’s outfit choice
The Duchess of Sussex stuck with one of her signature silhouettes for the big moment: a white trench dress by Grace Wales Bonner. Markle also chose a similar look during the photo call for her engagement to Prince Harry in November 2017, wearing a white Line the Label trench coat. (The Canadian label actually renamed the coat the Meghan after she wore it.)

The walking-away shot
At both the photo call for their engagement and the royal baby, paparazzi snapped sweet shots of Markle and Prince Harry from behind, walking away with their arms around each other.

Baby Sussex’s outfit
The baby was wrapped in a G.H. Hurt & Sons Ivory White Leaves and Flowers shawl. His cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis all made their debuts in the brand, as well. Hello notes that the queen wrapped Prince Charles in a blanket from the brand when the future king was introduced to the world. That’s one specific royal tradition.

The location
The royal baby’s first photo shoot took place in St. George’s Hall at Windsor Castle, which just so happens to be where his parents held their wedding reception. (They also live nearby now at Frogmore Cottage on the grounds.) Unfortunately, we don’t have images from inside that party, but from the looks of the hall, it’s obviously a stunning venue and holds a special place in their hearts.
