As the saying goes, the apple doesn’t fall far from the musical tree. Not surprisingly, such is the case for Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s 7-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.

We know Blue can rap, rock Louboutins with panache and shush her parents like no one else. But when she joined her 37-year-old Grammy winner mom on a surprise new live companion album to the Homecoming documentary, we couldn’t help but be impressed as hell.

In a track titled “Lift Every Voice and Sing – Blue’s Version” on Homecoming: The Live Album, Blue belts out the traditional hymn for her family. She has range, she has finesse, she has her mother’s genes—but is anyone necessarily surprised?

After Blue finishes, her family/fans clap proudly for her and Beyoncé can be heard saying, “Beautiful job, you sound so pretty!”
