Meghan Markle’s New Year’s Resolutions: BLESS
Meghan Markle has two New Year’s resolutions that tend to stay on her list every year.
Markle wrote about her goals for 2016 in a post for her blog, The Tig, which she shut down when her relationship with Prince Harry started getting serious. And the first two resolutions are pretty darn normal.
“Stop biting my nails. Stop swearing,” she wrote in a post on January 1, 2016. “Re-learn French,”
“These make my New Year’s resolution list nearly (AKA actually every) single year,” Markle went on to explain. “The swearing comes in lulls triggered by being overworked or feeling mighty cheeky after a couple drinks.”
“And when it comes to the biting of the nails—well, it still happens with a turbulent flight or a stressful day,” she said, “It’s unladylike. But then again, so is the swearing. Dammit.”
She does give herself some slack when it comes to actually cutting these two habits out of her life. “My nails will be fine, and if I toss out a four letter word once in a blue moon, well frankly I think it adds character,” she wrote.
Markle wrote this blog post before meeting Prince Harry in July of that year. And it seems her other goal for the year ahead might have just helped her in the romance department: “My New Year’s resolution is to leave room for magic. To make my plans, and be okay if they sometimes break. To set my goals, but to be open to change.”
