The audience at a screening of Jennifer Aniston’s new flick “Cake” was in awe of her performance — and the actress is getting overwhelmed by the buzz.
“(It’s) awkward,” the “Friends” star told Gossip Table at the Tribeca Grand Sunday night, referring to prior screenings of the well-received film. And…and…and…I’m flattered and humbled.”
“I gave myself about six weeks to really just disappear and connect with (the character) and this trauma which is unthinkable,” she said. “And I was just so excited and I ticked all the boxes in the actor dream role.”
Aniston stayed to watch the screening, but gave up her fifth row center seats in order to sit in the back row with her publicist and watch the audience reaction.
“They showed her to her seats up front, but as the movie began she snuck into the back and put on her glasses,” says one spy who sat near the actress. “Her performance is very moving and raw. She killed it.”
Aniston later hit the after-party at Jimmy at the James, along with her proud fiancé, Justin Theroux, with whom she snuggled in a back corner after she mingled with guests.
Our tipster added that he “didn’t see” any baby bump — putting to rest (at least for another week) the rumors that Aniston has a little friend in the oven.
The star also told us about her upcoming Thanksgiving plans with Theroux, and said she’ll whip up her special dish.
“Well, there’s always the turkey and then there’s always the string beans with mushroom soup and the little onions…Durkee onions. That’s my casserole. It’s good. And I make it with lower fat mushroom soup,” she told us.
